How to choose kitchen sinks with drainer.
Why a drainer?
A drainer gives you a ribbed area beside the bowl to stand pans and dishes to drip dry. It protects the worktop, especially laminate and timber, from standing water.
Left or right?
Most of these sinks come with the bowl on the left or the right (BBL or BBR in 1810 names). Velore and Bilancio are reversible, so the same sink fits either way round.
Which worktop?
These are inset sinks, so they sit on top of any worktop, including laminate. Razor10 and Zen I-F have a thin rim that can also be set flush into a stone worktop.
Steel or composite?
Most are stainless steel. Second Nature Cadit is granite composite in Arctic, Carbon and Glacier, for a solid colour sink with a drainer.
Cabinet size
The bowl sits over the sink base unit and the drainer over the cabinet next to it. Each model lists the base unit it needs under the bowl and its overall length.

Which side should the drainer go?
Usually on the side with the most worktop, or next to the dishwasher so clean things can go straight in. Choose bowl left (BBL) or bowl right (BBR) to suit.
Can a sink with a drainer be undermounted?
Not usually: a sink with a built-in drainer sits on top of the worktop. For an undermount sink, ask your worktop maker to cut drainer grooves into a stone worktop instead.
Do you sell double bowl sinks with a drainer?
Yes: the Second Nature Line 100 double bowl sink has a drainer, and many 1.5 bowl sinks with a drainer are here too.
Do they come with a waste?
1810 Bordo, Forza, Razor10 and Zen I-F include a 3½" basket strainer waste and overflow and a Maximiser plumbing kit. Second Nature sinks come with a waste kit.
How much is delivery?
Sinks and taps are delivered for £10 + VAT anywhere on the UK mainland. In-stock 1810 Company products are dispatched the next working day when you order by 12 noon; in-stock Second Nature sinks and taps arrive in 2–5 working days.
