An undermount sink fits below the worktop for a seamless edge and suits stone, solid surface, solid timber and compact laminate. An inset sink drops into the worktop and suits every worktop, including standard laminate. A Belfast sink sits on its own base unit with its front on show.
A large single bowl takes trays and big pans. A 1.5 bowl adds a half bowl for rinsing and fits a 600mm unit. A double bowl gives two full-size bowls and needs a wider unit, usually 800mm or more.
Stainless steel is tough, hygienic and easy to keep clean, and 1810 and Second Nature also make it in copper, gold and gunmetal PVD colours. Granite composite comes in solid black, white and grey. Fireclay and ceramic give a classic look for Shaker kitchens.
A single lever mixer is easiest to use with one hand; a pull-out or semi-pro tap makes rinsing quicker; a bridge mixer suits a traditional kitchen. Check the number of tap holes and your water pressure: most of our taps need at least 0.5 bar.
Taps come in chrome, brushed steel, matt black, gold brass, copper and gunmetal, and many of our sinks come in the same PVD colours, so the sink, tap and handles can all match.
Our sinks and taps come from The 1810 Company and Second Nature. They are delivered for £10 + VAT anywhere on the UK mainland, and in-stock 1810 products are dispatched the next working day when you order by 12 noon.
An inset sink drops into the worktop and sits on top of it, so it suits any worktop, including laminate. An undermount sink fits below the worktop for a seamless edge, and needs a stone, solid surface, solid timber or compact laminate worktop.
Stainless steel is tough and easy to clean. Granite composite resists scratches and heat and comes in solid colours. Fireclay and ceramic sinks, including Belfast styles, give a classic look.
Each sink lists the base unit it needs. As a guide, single bowls fit units from 300mm to 800mm depending on the bowl, a 1.5 bowl usually needs a 600mm unit and a double bowl an 800mm unit or wider. Send us your unit size and we’ll check.
Single lever, pull-out and semi-pro taps need one tap hole; bridge mixers need two. With an undermount sink the tap goes through the worktop.
Most of our taps work from 0.5 bar, which suits mains-pressure and combi boiler systems. If you have a gravity-fed hot water tank, check the minimum pressure on the tap or call us on 01242 523879.
Not online at the moment. If you are fitting one, 1810 sinks with an offset waste, such as Zenuno 15 500U and 700U With Offset Waste, leave more room under the sink for the boiling water tank.
Yes. Taps and many sinks come in finishes such as brushed steel, black, brass, copper and gunmetal, so you can match them to your handles.
