Buying guide

How to choose chrome kitchen taps.

Why chrome?

Chrome is bright, hard-wearing and the easiest finish to wipe clean. It suits modern and traditional kitchens and goes with stainless steel, white and black sinks.

Which type of tap?

A single lever mixer is the simplest to use with one hand; twin lever taps give separate hot and cold handles; pull-out and semi-pro taps add a spray for rinsing. See our pull-out and bridge mixer taps.

Chrome and black

Second Nature Flag and Heron also come in chrome and black, with a black spring or hose against a chrome body.

Water pressure

Most of our taps need at least 0.5 bar of water pressure, which suits mains-pressure and combi boiler systems. If you have a gravity-fed hot water tank, check the pressure first or call us.

Common questions

Chrome kitchen taps: common questions.

Is chrome or brushed steel better?

Chrome is bright and the easiest to wipe clean; brushed steel hides fingerprints and water spots better and matches a stainless sink. See our brushed steel kitchen taps.

How do I keep a chrome tap shiny?

Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and dry it. Avoid limescale removers and abrasive cleaners, which can dull the plating.

How much is delivery?

Sinks and taps are delivered for £10 + VAT anywhere on the UK mainland. In-stock 1810 Company products are dispatched the next working day when you order by 12 noon; in-stock Second Nature sinks and taps arrive in 2–5 working days.
