The look of bespoke cabinetry, for less. Doors set inside a solid face frame, true in-frame or mock in-frame, in painted and timber finishes — the classic British country-house kitchen.

In a true in-frame kitchen each door sits inside a solid timber face frame on the front of the cabinet, rather than over it. It is how traditional cabinetmakers built kitchens, and it gives a crafted, furniture-like finish. Mock in-frame doors recreate the look with a frame detail on the door itself, at a lower price and with standard cabinets.
In-frame kitchens are usually painted, often in a paint-to-order colour, and many can be repainted later. Beaded frames add a fine moulded edge for a more traditional look; plain frames suit a simpler style. Every in-frame kitchen we sell arrives rigid, with the doors fitted and hung in the frame.
Knobs, cup handles and latches in aged brass, pewter or black suit an in-frame kitchen, and visible butt hinges are part of the look on true in-frame ranges. Solid oak, quartz and marble-effect worktops all suit the style, and a dresser or larder cupboard completes it.
We sell in-frame kitchens from Second Nature, Kitchen Stori and Burbidge, and a typical 13-unit L-shaped in-frame kitchen starts from £2,386 with us. True in-frame costs more than mock in-frame. Send us your measurements and we will plan your in-frame kitchen free, with 3D images and an itemised quote.
A true in-frame kitchen has doors set inside a separate face frame on the cabinet. Mock in-frame doors have the frame detail on the door itself, giving a similar look at a lower price.
Many of our in-frame ranges can be painted to order in a wide choice of colours. Each range page shows its colours.
It gives the look of a bespoke, furniture-made kitchen. Mock in-frame ranges, such as Mornington Beaded Vale, Ellesmere and Chartwell, give a similar look for less.
Slightly: the face frame takes a little space at the front of each cabinet. Your designer plans around it and can suggest larders and pan drawers to make the most of the room.
A typical 13-unit L-shaped in-frame kitchen starts from £2,386 as a guide (units only, including VAT). Each range shows the price of that same kitchen so you can compare them fairly.
