Choosing a bin for under the sink.
Why the space under a sink is different
The sink waste, trap and water pipes take up the back and middle of the cabinet, and a Quooker tank, water filter or waste disposer may be there too. A normal full-depth pull-out bin won’t fit, so under-sink bins are shallower, shaped around the plumbing or hung on the door.
Blum ECO sink drawers
Blum’s ECO sink bins sit in a soft-close drawer cut away around the sink waste, so the space below the sink becomes a drawer of lidded bins. They are made for 600mm sink units, and the Quooker versions leave room for a 3-litre Quooker boiling-water tank beside the bins.
Behind a hinged door
If your sink unit has an ordinary hinged door, choose a bin that fixes to the cabinet floor and slides out (some open automatically with the door), or a small door-mounted bin of 12 to 16 litres that hangs on the inside of the door, clear of the pipes.
Protect the cabinet floor
An Aqua Stop drip mat under the sink catches leaks before they reach the cabinet floor. You will find it with the ECO bin spares, along with food-waste caddies and replacement bins.

Can you put a pull-out bin under a sink?
Yes, if it is made for it. A full-depth pull-out bin usually hits the sink waste, so choose a Blum ECO sink drawer, which is shaped around it, or a smaller bin that fixes to the cabinet floor or door.
Will a bin fit with a Quooker tap?
Yes. Blum makes ECO sink bins for 600mm sink units that leave room for a 3-litre Quooker tank beside the bins.
What size is a sink unit?
Most kitchen sink units are 600mm wide; a single bowl sink can sit in a 500mm unit and a large or double bowl sink may need 800mm or more. Measure the inside of the cabinet and note where the pipes are before you choose.
Which bin works with a water filter or waste disposer?
Anything under the sink takes space from the bin, so measure what is left. A door-mounted bin hangs clear of most filters, and a base-fixed bin can sit to one side. For a Quooker tank, choose a Blum ECO sink drawer made for one.
Can I fit an under-sink bin to my existing kitchen?
Yes. Door-mounted and base-fixed bins fit an existing sink unit and keep its hinged door. A Blum ECO sink drawer needs the door taken off its hinges and fixed to the drawer as a drawer front.
