Burbidge is a family-owned British manufacturer that has worked with timber since 1867 and now makes kitchen doors, accessories and storage from its base in Coventry. Its ranges span in-frame, classic Shaker and contemporary slab designs, with painted doors hand-sprayed in its own UK factory. The company holds the Manufacturing Guild Mark from the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.

The Barnes Shaker kitchen is a pared-back timber door from Burbidge, with a solid ash frame around a 6mm ash-veneered centre panel. It is hand-sprayed in matt paint at Burbidge's UK factory in Coventry, and the finish lets the ash grain show through. The look is clean and uncluttered, without heavy detailing. It sits well in period homes and modern extensions, and suits anyone who wants a timber Shaker that keeps things simple.
Colours we stock and photograph include Putty, Seal Grey, Soft Grey and Baltic Green. Bespoke painted colours are also available if you want something different. The door takes separate handles, such as the K163 curved foot bar. Burbidge makes Barnes to measure, so door sizes can be adjusted to fit your room, and curved doors are available. Glazed doors and an overmantel option are also offered, which helps if you plan a dresser-style feature.
Our cabinets are rigid-built and delivered with the doors fitted. We use a colour-coordinated carcase where available, and both hinges and drawers are soft-close. The carcase has a 25-year guarantee. A typical 13-unit L-shaped Barnes kitchen starts at £2,506.61, units only. Send us your room measurements and a designer will plan the kitchen for free, with 3D images and an itemised quote. Sample doors are available too, so you can see the grain and paint finish before deciding.
Your cabinets come with a standard carcase in the colour the door maker recommends for your door colour, or Natural Lancaster Oak (Egger H3368) where there is no match. Or choose from 198 Egger plain colours and woodgrains to match or contrast with your doors.
Swatches from the EGGER Decorative Collection, 18mm board. “UK stock” and “To order” show Egger’s board availability. Standard carcase colours are included in the price; other colours cost extra and we’ll confirm the price with your order. Colours on screen are approximate.
