Choosing kitchen cabinet hinges.

Clip-on soft-close hinges

Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges clip onto a mounting plate on the cabinet, so doors can be taken off and put back without tools, and the built-in soft-close stops them slamming. Most replacement doors take the same standard 35mm hinge cup.

Wider opening and handle-free doors

A 170° hinge lets a door open fully out of the way, which helps with corner units and internal drawers. Blum TIP-ON opens a door with a push, for handleless kitchens without a rail.

In-frame and traditional hinges

In-frame kitchens often use decorative butt hinges, like the Burbidge range here, with in-frame door stops so the door closes flush with the frame. Kesseböhmer specialist hinges cover unusual doors and lift mechanisms.

Mounting plates

The mounting plate fixes to the cabinet side and sets how the door sits. Choose the plate to suit your cabinet and door overlay; if you are unsure, send us a photo of the old hinge.

Which hinge do I need?

Most kitchen doors use a soft-close concealed hinge on a separate mounting plate. Wide opening 170° hinges let a door open fully beside pull-outs, and special hinges suit corner and in-frame doors.

Replacing old hinges

Check the brand and the mounting plate already on the cabinet. Blum CLIP top hinges clip onto Blum plates, so a hinge can often be changed without new holes.

Can I order it without a kitchen?

Yes. Accessories can be ordered on their own, with delivery added at checkout. If you order them with a kitchen, they travel with the rest of your order.
